PTS offers a comprehensive suite of support services to government agencies that enables them to introduce new wireless communications systems. Our core offerings of architectural design and engineering are supported by our expertise in land use, zoning, construction management, and the integration of the latest in telecommunications technology.
PTS is providing architectural, land use permitting, engineering...
PTS is providing architectural, engineering, land use permitting, construction and program management services for a local jurisdiction in the Seattle area. The jurisdiction is one of the first in the nation to migrate to the 700MHz band to operate their trunked radio system. This radio system provides voice and data communication in support of transit operations and back up emergency communications in the county area. The project consists of 10 existing and new communication facilities in the Seattle region. The facilities will be designed to accommodate radio and microwave interconnect antennas on the structure and space for radio equipment. The project specifics are as follows:
Situated on the top of a mountain, the new communication facility...
Situated on top of a mountain, the new communication facility provides much needed space for high profile government wireless users. The project consists of a new building to house 18 tenants, a new 180’ self-supporting tower, and an extension to an existing tower. It was initiated by a request from a Native American community to consolidate all hi-tech environments on a mountain in order to preserve, respect, and revere Native American land. Many significant challenges arose including the need to not disturb any ground with material or staging. Because of the severity of the landscape and elevations, structures must withstand winds of 120 mph. With the wind and winter snow, this put the construction window at two months. The solution is a modular, precast building on a floating concrete foundation. The foundations for the towers were concrete pads poured above grade. Extraordinary coordination was necessary for acceptable construction methods; clearance to a high security, limited access site; and structures able to withstand extreme weather conditions. The project’s success was also due to on-time delivery and open communication with all parties.
PTS is working with HAP...
PTS is pleased to announce their new partnership with the Housing Authority of Portland (HAP). PTS will be managing wireless communications equipment on more than 70 HAP properties in the Portland market. Many HAP properties are multistory buildings located within Portland’s urban core providing critical coverage not available with other sites. HAP has been a partner in wireless communication helping providing services to their residents and surrounding communities since the mid 1990s.
HAP was established in 1941 and is the largest provider of affordable housing in Oregon with an annual budget of approximately $105 million and employs 270 staff members. HAP services nearly 14,000 families – more than 33,000 residents.
PTS provided Architectural, Elecrical, Mechanical and Structural Design...
PTS provided Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical and Structural Design Services to the City of Longview for the construction of a new Data Center in an existing building. The 800 sq ft improvement is located on the ground floor within the City of Longview City Hall and incorporates an adjoining mechanical and electrical room. This room services the new high-tech Data Center and uses new outdoor HVAC units designed through PTS. The current construction estimate is $333,000 for this project.
